To quote from a recent paper "Today, with cloud-based interconnection seldom in evidence, cloud computing might be more accurately described as "sky computing," with many isolated clouds of services which IT customers must plug into individually. On the other hand, as virtualization and SOA permeate the enterprise, the idea of loosely coupled services running on an agile, scalable infrastructure should eventually make every enterprise a node in the cloud.” That’s exactly the point…the trends point toward a great big equalizer down the road. Computing like any other utility like gas or water for sustenance. Not right way of course, but gragually..not just for the giants like IBM and Google, but also for the masses. Right now, the small- to medium-sized enterprises could stand to benefit the most especially in this tough economic climate. That said, certainly there are many similar successes like this one where a user provides sound advice from the trenches (http://ow.ly/jcn3) … would love to hear more technical recommendations from folks who are actually benefiting from (or planning) a move to the cloud.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12769387332804989363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6293579155917103664.post-68311985313538989362009-07-10T16:08:35.550-07:002009-07-10T16:08:35.550-07:00Hi Chirag,

I totally agree with what you say about the open source for clouding, I think that would be safer for the companies and we could avoid monopolies. By the way, what a humorous video, I enjoyed watching it.

Our company just developed a cloud-hosted application. You can take a look at it here: http://personalradiostation.cloudapp.net/. If you like it, you can help us vote for it at the new CloudApp() Contest: http://www.newcloudapp.com/vote.aspx. The app is listed at the end of the page, under the name of Omar Del Rio.

Rewards,

Ana Rodriguez
ana.rodriguez@sieena.comAna Rodrigueznoreply@blogger.com
